Welcome to my pond construction page. I have built this pond in 5 months during the summer of 2005.

The finished pond is 1800 gallons filtered by 2 x 32" vortices fed from a bottom drain with a side drain for winter use. The pond also has an Olympic skimmer. I am currently using a Stuart Turner 2000 GPH pump fed from both the skimmer and the filter with the flow controlled by valves. The electrics are split into 3 sections (permanent supply, float switch controlled & timer controlled) I have now fitted a self filling system using a standard toilet float switch this is connected to a water meter so i know when to replace the water purifer cartridges.

The finished filter house. You can see the float switch floating in the pond (top left of the photo). The decking is hinged as an access hatch to the filter house. Mounted on the wall is the 50 watt uv.
